The Gongga Lima bamboo buzzer

The  "Gongga Lima"  is a bamboo buzzer or bamboo fork
of the Mandar people in Central Sulawesi.

This buzzer can be found allover Southeast Asia with
different sizes and names, but the Mandar version is special,
it has two finger holes at the bottom which slightly produce a formant change of the sound.

The Gongga Lima is not only played in case you are bored,
it might also be used to accompany singing, like the Mandar
song "Balanipa", in which the king reports from his adventures when he comes back from traveling (see video).

This instsrument appears in many sizes, the fork is getting
beaten into the flat hand, creating a buzzing sound
