There is no other instrument worldwide like the Vietnamese Dan Bau. The coprus of the Dan Bau is nowadays made of the same like the zither Dan Tranh. The single chord is getting plucked with a plectrum ,while the same hand prdouces the overtone. The other hand modulates the tone by turning the swelling paddle at the resonating conus. Playing the Dan Bau is not easy, whoever wants to try please ask here for some helpsome playing advices!  The sound of the Dan Bau is one of the most beautiful and recognizable in all Asia. It's winig smooth voice is rich of formants and pleases every listener.
